JD Era “No Handouts” Mixtape Release Party May 18th @ Body English (Hosted By. Raekwon & Angela Yee)

Being on tour for the past 3 months performing at some of the most celebrated venues and dropping his anticipated mix tape “No Handouts”, JD Era returns home with many accolades to his career.  With the city that supported him, Friday May 18, 2012 marks the date for everyone to celebrate the achievements and future of JD Era with the release of his new project.

Alongside Angela Yee (Power 105’s Breakfast Club) and Jeni (Flow 93.5); Raekwon and JD Era host the festivities at Body English Night Club.  Music provided by DJ Kicks and Platinum Touch’s Breezy and DJ P Nutt (JD Era’s official DJ).

This concert was hands down the highlight of my summer.  While getting off the train at Dundas, I walked up the stairs hearing Ice Cream blaring through the buildings of downtown Toronto.  Finally, when I hit the square I was shocked to see the amount of people at the square and the love Toronto was showing two legendary Wu-Tang members.  I’ve never witnessed a FREE outdoor concert so live and full of energy in my entire life.  I’m proud of Toronto and our love for hip hop.

“Last night in the T-Dot-Oh, Raekwon hit the stage at Sound Academy for Canadian Music Week and performed the entirety of his ‘Only Built 4 Cuban Linx’ album. I got some footage of The Chef performing ‘Incarcerated Scarfaces’ before bringing out Kardinal Offishall to help him with ‘Ice Cream’.”

I’ve seen The Chef in concert before, but why did he have to perform Only Built 4 Cuban Linx in its entirety when I wasn’t there? As you can tell, I’m salty.
